Welcome to the Suwannee Valley Shops located in historic downtown Trenton, at the heart of North Central Florida's Gilchrist County. The Quilt Shoppe, located in a 1925 Coca Cola Bottling Plant, is home to over 7,000 bolts of fabric, an extensive selection of quilting supplies and a tin ceiling library where customers can relax by the fireplace in comfortable chairs while selecting from hundreds of quilt books. This building also houses the Suwannee Rose Café and the Happy Days Old Time Soda Fountain. The Café serves gourmet coffee, pastries and luncheon specialties including a variety of quiches, soups, salads, Monte Christo’s, Reuben’s, Wraps and hot Panini sandwiches. The Happy Days Old Time Soda Fountain is a vintage soda fountain and ice cream parlor. The marble counters, were manufactured by Robert M. Green and Sons in the 1920s, and the Soda Fountain, is a Bastian-Blessing "All Dry Superior Bobtail" manufactured over 60 years ago in July of 1950. One of the interesting historical facts about Trenton's soda fountain counter is that it was made by Robert M. Green who is the man credited with inventing the ice cream soda in 1874. The counter still proudly displays Robert M. Green's original manufacturer's nameplate. Join us for lunch and an ice cream treat while spending the day shopping and getting help with your fabric selection or current project.

The Crystal Ice House is located adjacent to the Suwannee Valley Quilt Shoppe and once furnished ice for the Coca Cola Bottling operations. Renovations were completed on this wonderful old building March 1, 2010. It is now home to a variety of small shops including Sally’s Suwannee Valley Cross Stitch, Danette’s Ruffled Rose Tea Room, Ann's Antiques and Collectables, Karen’s Long Arm Machine Quilting, and Kathy’s Mane Street Hair Salon. Sally Criswell is an internationally known cross stitch teacher who presents a Cross Stitch selection that is one of the best in the country. Our Antique Gallery is home to a wide selection of primitives as well as many fine quality antique furnishings and glassware from times gone by. The Ice House also has a superb classroom complete with custom design walls.

The Wade Building, a restored 1910 Dry Goods Store that once sold horse collars and coffins and is adjacent to the South side of Trenton's historic turn of the century rail-road depot, is now home to the Florida Quilt Museum and Headquarters for the Florida Quilt Trail. Many of the antiques used to display the vintage quilts are also for sale.

Meghan’s Memory Garden

In honor of our golden retriever, Meghan Elizabeth, we have created a special “Dog Friendly” eating area in the beautiful outdoor garden Karen and Gary Alberts created just outside of the Crystal Ice House.

Pictured above is Mason, a Coton de Tulear, who is already enjoying this special experience.
